With AlgoVote, Algorand DAOs can manage governance sessions with a simple, embeddable voting module. DAO managers can customize and deploy their voting smart contracts through the AlgoVote configurator, then DAO members can use their existing DAO tokens to vote when governace periods are open. All voting responses are recorded on-chain, forever.
AlgoVote works with both permissioned and permisionless voting. Limit votes to one token per voter, or allow for general voting responses from the entire community.
AlgoVote was built by HEADLINE INC. This voting Dapp is an extension of the PIPELINE SDK.
Governance tokens are used by DAO members to vote on DAO procedures, operations, and objectives. If you do not already have a governance token for your DAO you can mint one right here in DAO Tools. One important thing to consider, however, is the utility of the token beyond voting. The default decimals for token minting in DAO Tools are zero. Zero is the optimal number of decimals for governance tokens, but may not fit your use case/utility objectives. For more advanced token minting, we recommend that DAO managers utilize the MyAlgo asset manager. https://asset.myalgo.com
AlgoVote is an experimental application in Beta. Use with caution.
Algo Vote facilitates DAO governance voting by allowing DAO managers to deploy voting smart contracts and governance tokens. In order for Algo Vote to be of maximum utility, DAO managers are encouraged to track the analytics of the voting sessions. Below you will find a simple step-by-step guide for the smart contract deployment operation on Algo Vote.
Every Algorand address can have a maximum of 10 deployed apps (polls, contracts, etc) at any given time. When the maximum number of apps has been reached, that Algorand address will no longer be able to deploy apps.
It is recommended that all unused/unneeded apps be deleted. If the maximum number of apps has been reached and cannot be deleted, then a new Algorand address will need to be created.
